A. Listen to the Video, audio and answer the questions given  below: (Book Page No: 76)

1. What is a Business Communication?

Ans: The process of transferring information from one person to another, within and outside the business environment, is termed as Business Communication.

2. What do you understand by ‘effective communication’ and ‘Communication plan’ of Business?

Ans: Effective business communication is how employees and management interact to reach organizational goals. Its purpose is to improve organizational practices and reduce errors.

3. What causes unpredictability in the situation on work place?

Ans: The job search portal's survey found that the top source of stress at work is simply “unpredictability,” or not knowing what the workday will bring.

4. Briefly explain your understanding best communication in business.

Ans: Best Business Communication Techniques are 1. Keep silent, 2. Ask questions, 3. Listen actively, 4. Give feedback, 5. Show empathy, 6. Stay enthusiastic, 7. Watch your body language, and 8. Build connections.

5. What is the most important aspect of the business communication?

Ans: Structure; Relevancy; Consistency; Clarity; Recency and primacy are the important aspects of the business communication.

 

B. Listen and give specific information on the terms given:

Ans:

1. Influential - having great influence on someone or something.

2. Reward power - the power of a manager to give some type of reward to an employee.

3. Filters - a device to remove unwanted material.

4. Communication Channels - a physical transmission medium such as a wire.

5. Message Receiver, sender - Receiver is the person who gets the message. Sender is the originator of a message.

6. Feedback - information about reactions to a product, a person's performance of a task, etc.

7. Context - the setting of a word or event.

8. Overarching - affecting or including everything.

9. Strategic ambiguity - managerial approach, where people in organizations deliberately use communication strategies.

10. Crisis - a time of great disagreement, confusion, or suffering.


Creative approach for communication in Business

1. What is important according to you? - What to communicate / How to communicate?

Ans: Both are important.

2. What is strategic communication?

Ans: Strategic communications is about developing and creating a plan with a goal in mind.

3. What are the mutual beneficial situations?

Ans: Mutual benefit is a contract or agreement in which both parties gain some type of advantage or value.

4. What are the four important steps for successful communication?

Ans:

Step 1: Have a specific goal.

Step 2: Know who you want to reach and how to reach them.

Step 3: Choose a message that resonates with your target audience.

Step 4: Measure the results.

5. What is meant by communicating the value? Why is it important?

Ans: Communicating value means walking your audience from exposure, to awareness and attention, to understanding, to evaluation and yielding, to retention, and finally to action.
